Reading based on a theme this time, any book set in, or written about WWI or WWII to fit in with our meeting on the evening of Remembrance Sunday.

Next Meeting Sunday 22nd October - Summer Reading Challenge Review

There are two books to read before October's meeting, (on Sunday 22nd) which are;

Catch 22, by Joseph Heller

and Lines of Justice: Aždaja, by Lee Sherred

Next meeting, once the date is arranged, will be at Sam's house, and we are hoping to be able to arrange a Skype call with Lee Sherred! And following a brief discussion of the pronunciation of Aždaja, we have found this clip of a Serbian lady saying Aždaja.

Next Meeting: 25th September - Queen's Head - 7:30pm

The next meeting will be at the Queen's Head in Frodsham, where we have reserved a table for 7:30pm - This will be the post-Summer Reading Challenge Prize Giving.

This year's Summer Reading Challenge is five books, one in each of the following categories:

Next Meeting: Walking Book Club: 16th & 23rd July - Moore Nature Reserve

Next month we will be walking while we talk books, another early start though to make sure we don't get locked into the carpark.

Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on leads and unfortunately, there are no toilets, so please be prepared.

Stout shoes and weather proof clothing (possibly also insect repellent) and we'll walk at a gentle pace.

The book to read is Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont by Elizabeth Taylor.

The book to read for the June meeting is The Seven Daughter's of Eve, by Bryan Sykes - Library reading group copies are available.

Next Meeting: Afternoon Tea: 2pm Sunday 14th May

Our next meeting will be earlier than usual, for afternoon tea, and needs to be booked in advance, anyone who would like to join us, please contact us to book your place as soon as possible, but no later than Friday 5th May - by email at runcornreaders[at]outlook.com

The price (payable in advance) is £8.50 and includes sandwiches, cakes and a pot of tea.

No single group read this month, your own choice from any of this years' 26 World Book Night Books.

The book to read for next time is The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison.
